Waterous, U.S.A:

Waterous Flotopump is a device that can be used in as little as 6 inches of water for putting off small fires or for dewatering purposes as well.

FLOTOPUMP HAS TWO MODELS:-
a) Standard Flotopump : having a minimum 40lpm@ 7 bar & maximum 530 lpm @ 2 bar
b) High Pressure Flotopump 40lpm @ 12 bar & 230lpm @ 3 bar

CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System)

CAFS is a high-energy fire suppression system, utilizing compressed air and mixing it with a water/foam solution to create finished foam fire stream. Finished foam is a highly aerated fire-extinguishing solution created by mixing air into the foam solution. The finished foam consists of an expanded bubble structure able to flow and cling on vertical or horizontal surfaces. As the compressed air/foam/water solution travels through the hose line, the turbulence creates finished foam with a uniform sized and durable bubble structure, this process is called scrubbing.

CAFS is made up of three main components: fire pump, air compressor, and a foam proportioning system working together.

Only CAFSystems are truly high-energy systems, due to the compressed air adding to the energy of the fire stream already being created from the water pressure. CAFS provides additional benefits because of the quality of the foam that is produced, it is clearly superior to low-energy foam streams.

Model 70-35-E

Additionally, the added energy of the compressed air in the fire stream causes the fire stream to flow greater distances than with plain water or foam solution fire streams.

In calendar year 2000 Waterous Company purchased Pneumax, Inc., a well-known name in the fire industry and the leader in CAFS Technology. We now are marketing several CAFS units under the name Waterous/Pneumax CAFS. These units are built with the same strict quality standards that Waterous has used for over 100 years in manufacturing of fire pumps.

Waterous/Pneumax offers five (5) different types of systems which gives the end user the optimum choice of mountings for the best cost effective way to obtain this technology.
These systems are as follows:
  1. Slide-in units These units are self-contained, engine driven, and designed for placement at the rear of an existing or new chassis. Units are completely plumbed and ready for use, all you need is a water tank.
  2. Cross-Mount Units These units are equipped similar to the Slide-in units, except they are designed to fit across the trucks chassis to allow you to have either near or far side discharges.
  3. Vehicle Mounted (PTO) Driven Units These units are supplied with the basic components needed to have a CAFS and utilize the truck transmission mounted PTO to drive them. They are the most economical system to purchase since you no longer require a separate engine to power the system. This package requires a foam proportioning system to be purchased separately.
  4. Midship Mount This unit, called our Eclipse System, is the largest system we produce. The pump is an 8000 1/m water pump with a 5.6 m3 built-in air compressor.
  5. Retrofit Units These units consist of a compressor assembly only, which allows you to add CAFS to your existing fire appliances. You would also need a foam proportioning system along with a foam and delivery manifold.
Waterous Company manufactures foam delivery manifolds for retrofitting existing units. All Waterous/Pneumax CAFS carry a five (5) year warranty, including all components, with the exception of the engine and compressor. These components carry their standard manufacturer's warranty.

CAFS will greatly improve the fire fighting abilities of any fire department, provided you receive the proper training. Waterous/Pneumax will provide training on operation and maintenance.
